During the course, participants will acquire basic skills in classical drawing and gain an understanding of composition principles, while also developing their individual abilities. Although the course topics and methodology are specifically oriented towards the competencies required for studies in the Bachelor鈥檚 programme in Architecture, the course content may also be useful for prospective students of other study programmes related to the creative arts.

Upon successful completion of the final examinations in drawing and composition, participants will receive a certificate approved by the RISEBA administration. The examination results are recognised as a passed entrance examination for the RISEBA Bachelor鈥檚 programme in Architecture, allowing applicants to participate in the competition for study places.

Course start: 4 March 2026

Objectives

The primary objective of the preparatory courses is to ensure a level of visual arts knowledge and skills necessary for successful competition for admission to the RISEBA Bachelor鈥檚 programme in Architecture.

The secondary objective is to provide an understanding of image-making culture for individuals interested in the fundamentals of visual arts.

Course Content

Drawing assignments focus on the depiction of geometric forms, with particular emphasis on:

  • developing the ability to assess the proportions of depicted objects;
  • studying the structural principles of objects;
  • applying the principles of linear perspective in spatial representation;
  • developing an understanding of the basic principles of planar composition.

The drawing methodology includes the completion of several (6鈥7) tasks of varying levels of complexity during the course sessions. However, the duration and focus of the tasks may vary depending on the participants鈥 level of preparation. Additional sketching sessions may also be organised during class time.

Composition assignments focus on acquiring skills in creating three-dimensional forms and developing a general understanding of form and space. Participants learn the basic principles of model-making for tectonic objects, with particular attention to proportions and spatial interaction.
